A leading construction company specialising in high-quality interior solutions is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with extensive drylining experience to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including refurbishing Cat B premises, restoring Grade II listed buildings, and creating office spaces in new builds.

The Quantity Surveyor's Role

The successful Quantity Surveyor will join a prestigious company renowned for its commitment to excellence in construction. They will be responsible for managing costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets.
  • Managing project finances, including cost control, cash flow, and value engineering.
  • Conducting site visits and valuations.
  • Overseeing contract administration and procurement.
  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.

The Quantity Surveyor

  • Extensive experience in drylining, including traditional drylining, metal stud, glazed, shaft wall, and risers.
  • Proven track record in cost management and budgeting.
  • Strong understanding of wall and ceiling systems, void barriers, and post-occupancy acoustic remediation.
  • Knowledge of passive fire stopping and related inspections.
  • Proficient in ceiling and partition design, as well as finishes such as plastering, tape & joint, rendering, and mastic.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Professional membership with RICS or similar is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in drylining within the construction industry.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Word and Excel.
