Role Description: As a Technical Leader, you will be a senior member of the Technical Management team, driving technical excellence and supporting our mission to become the UK's leading technical solutions provider.

You will manage stakeholder relationships internally (bid teams, commercial teams, operational teams) and externally (clients, consultant partners, supply chain, manufacturers). Adherence to corporate governance and our core values is crucial.

You will oversee and manage the delivery of effective design and technical management across multiple projects. Your focus will be on the pre-construction phase design processes, ensuring projects are set up technically to reduce on-site engineering challenges and cost uncertainties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall technical responsibility for the pre-construction phase design processes within your region/projects.
  • Set up and monitor technical strategies and deliverables plans for all projects.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate design and technical risks.
  • Introduce relevant specialists to project teams at appropriate times.
  • Ensure proper coordination and communication of designs.
  • Manage compliance with relevant Technical Standards, Regulations, and good practices.
  • Oversee design development, integration of value engineering, and change management.
  • Align consultant deliverables and fees with project pricing, procurement, and construction requirements.

Reporting To:

  • Project: Project Director/Regional Director
  • Functional: Technical Director

Manages:

  • Technical Managers and external stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: BEng or MEng/MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Building Services degree.
  • Professional Registration: Incorporated or Chartered status (or working towards) with CIBSE, IET, IMechE, or a related institution.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in a design-related building services engineering role.
  • Sector Experience: Preferably Healthcare, Commercial, Leisure, MOD/MOJ.
  • Project Value Experience: Comfortable managing projects with MEP values of £5-50M.
