Legal and Compliance Assistant Manager

My client is looking for a Legal and Compliance Manager to act as the primary contact for compliance and commercial contract review issues in the Europe and Africa (EUA) region. This position, which reports to the Manager of Legal and Insurance, plays a crucial role in providing guidance on national and EU laws or international conventions, leading training programs, and handling compliance incidents.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Act as the compliance focal point, providing advice on various legal matters including code of conduct, competition law, anti-bribery/anti-trust, and data protection.
- Investigate compliance incidents within the organisation and with Third-Party Agents, providing guidance and managing communications effectively.
- Support the business in sanctions compliance, ensuring due diligence and minimising risks.
- Maintain and communicate compliance resources, ensuring they are accurate and current.
- Support stakeholders in identifying and mitigating compliance risks, and foster a compliance culture.
- Stay informed on trends and developments in the Compliance space.
- Review commercial contracts, support negotiations, and analyse agreements to protect the organisation's interests.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A law degree and minimum 5 years' experience in compliance and/or contract review.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal and compliance concepts to diverse audiences.
- Competencies in teamwork, planning and organisation, communication, problem-solving, business awareness, and innovation.
