Are you a dynamic and resourceful Buyer? We have an exciting opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in our supply chain operations. As a Buyer, you'll work closely with the Purchasing Manager to ensure smooth procurement processes and maintain a seamless flow of goods, materials, and services within a fun and dynamic team and culture. The business is growing so the opportunity for development is available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to process customer BoM's, enabling accurate supplier pricing for sales quotes.
- Purchase goods, materials, and services in line with cost, quality, and delivery targets, as agreed with the Purchasing Manager.
- Check order acknowledgements to confirm delivery timescales and prevent delays.
- Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials, promptly communicating any supply issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all orders within MRP (Material Requirements Planning).
- Contact suppliers to resolve pricing, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.
- Provide cover for the stores team when needed.
- Research and evaluate existing and new suppliers, assisting in meetings with current and potential partners.
- Aid in assessing and evaluating supplier performance, suggesting improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop ideas and strategies for operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Take a professional and consistent approach in managing supplier relationships.
- Be responsible for a list of agreed customer accounts beyond day-to-day purchasing.
- Respond flexibly to management requests within your scope and competence.
