HR and Engagement Advisor

Salary up to £35k

Full Time – 12-14 months FTC

Based in Tameside, Greater Manchester

Medlock Partners are partnering with an award winning, and values led organisation, to strengthen its people operations.

The business is looking to recruit an enthusiastic HR Advisor with generalist experience for a 12–14-month FTC.

The HR and Engagement Advisor will report into the HR and Engagement Manager and support the HR and Engagement operations for the business.

The successful person will be responsible for providing HR support with an initial focus on Employee relations, upskilling Managers and Engagement initiatives.

Key responsibilities of the HR and Engagement Advisor:

  • Provide solution-focused advice on HR policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and fairness.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, flexible working, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the People and Engagement Lead on HR projects and initiatives as required.
  • Support the development of a high-performance culture by advising on goal setting, performance reviews, and addressing performance issues.
  • Assist with wellbeing and welfare issues, including managing long-term sickness and occupational health.
  • Ensure reasonable adjustments are appropriately addressed.
  • Lead recruitment campaigns.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Manage and update the HR system with employee changes.
  • Oversee HR record-keeping, including colleague files and performance meetings.
  • Support our internal reward and recognition program.
  • Support colleague surveys and manage feedback and actions.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Lead wellbeing initiatives to improve employee welfare and engagement.

Key Requirements for the HR and Engagement Advisor

  • Experience at HR Advisor level is essential for this role.
  • Level 5 CIPD Human Resource Management qualification.
  • Can build and maintain effective relationships with people at all levels across the business.
  • The ability to think from a colleague perspective, having empathy for individuals whilst balancing business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • A strong team player.
  • A solution focused individual.
  • Agile and adapt to changing business needs.
