Buyer - Manufacturing - Fixed Term Contract (Maternity) 12 Months Minimum - Eccles, Greater Manchester - £30-33k p/a
Are you a Buyer/Purchaser looking for a new opportunity that will utilise your knowledge of supply chain management and logistics?
Do you get a kick out of helping to deliver projects on time and within budget by identifying new vendors, expediating supplier deliveries and working proactively to resolve supply chain issues?
Do you have experience of purchasing within a manufacturing environment? This would be a real good 'nice to have' but isn't essential.
Are you able to commute to Eccles daily? The site is within walking distance of Monton, so plenty of choices for lunch!
If the answers above are yes our client need you to use your excellent computer skills and knowledge of software along with other stock management software and systems to manage their products, product orders and suppliers. They'll also need you to use your communication skills to analyse and write up data, work independently and in the team, whilst also negotiating with suppliers to agree on prices, quantities, and delivery schedules.

Although this is an initial fixed term, 12 month contract role, it is not out of the question that the role could turn permanent with the incredible trajectory our client are on.
The role....
- Supporting the BD team in tender submissions.
- Supporting Engineering and Production teams.
- Raising purchase requisition forms for materials and component parts.
- Identification and assessment of new vendors.
- Expediting supplier deliveries and negotiating improvements on lead times to meet programme/project schedules.
- Work proactively to resolve supply chain issues.
- Negotiate pricing and other terms with suppliers to improve cost base and deliver savings.
- Maintain accurate purchasing data to ensure full traceability.
- Responsible for on-time invoice approval.
