About The Company

We are currently looking to recruit a number of experienced Site / Installation / Service Engineers for one of our established clients. Providing high levels of after-sales and installation services to clients across a wide range of industries, they have been installing and servicing industrial doors for over 30 years. They have built up a strong reputation across a variety of industry sectors including nuclear, defence and national infrastructure.

As a Mechanical or Electrically biased Site Engineer you will work as part of a team on the installation, repair and servicing of various types of industrial doors, including the associated hardware and components.

These roles are National, so successful candidates will be working away from home Monday to Friday for a large percentage of the time, including the odd weekend.

A large percentage of the work is with the MOD and therefore ALL candidates must be able to pass the (SC) Security Clearance process, including a DBS Check and Criminal Record Check. All candidates will need to hold UK Citizenship Status, with full UK/British Passport and be able to demonstrate continuous UK employment for the last 3 years and proof of UK residence for the last 5 years. Successful candidates will also need to successfully pass medical and drugs & alcohol tests.

HOURS OF WORK - Core Hours are 8.00 am to 4.30 pm Monday - Thursday and 2pm Finish Fridays

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service and maintain a range of doors, which can be NPSA (CPNI) rated. The range includes Sliding-folding bi fold doors, side hinged doors and fire doors. All doors can be Mechanically or Electrically operated
  • Provide an innovative and technically aware approach to problem solving
  • Comply with all Health & Safety requirements. (All Engineers will be required to have CSCS Cards as a minimum, but all Supervisors will require SSSTS cards)
  • Either Lead or be a member of a team of fitters, to ensure the project is completed within the allocated time and to the high standards required
  • Ensure all HSE and company paperwork is completed and returned to the office after the project has been completed
  • Ensure appropriate audits and checks are carried out on all equipment in line with relevant standards
  • Receive and put into action all written and verbal instructions as required
  • As a supervisor or senior member of the team, train and supervise all team members to ensure they adhere to all safety documentation and requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience of either Mechanical or Electrical Site Work
  • The ability to work with power tools, Drills, Grinders etc.
  • Hold a valid CSCS or SSSTS card
  • Electricians will need to be qualified to BS7671 18th Edition Level
  • IPAF and PASMA qualifications would be highly desirable, however the company will pay for these if required
  • Previous experience with Security Doors, Security Gates / Barriers, Industrial Doors etc would be highly beneficial but not essential
  • Current SC Security Clearance would be highly desirable
