Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) - Secondary School

Location: Loughton

Salary: £90 - £100 p.day

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (5 days per week)

Start Date: September 2024

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant Secondary School team. This role involves providing 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance they require to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN, helping them to access the curriculum and engage with their learning.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to deliver a cohesive support strategy.
  • Encourage and promote the social and emotional development of students.
  • Support students during classroom activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help with personal care tasks as required, ensuring the dignity and comfort of the student.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

About You:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN, particularly in a secondary school setting, is highly desirable.
  • A caring and patient attitude, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, able to adapt to the changing needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are advantageous.
