Housekeeper for Private Estate - Charlbury

We are seeking a meticulous, detail-orientated Housekeeper to join a lovely team within a Private Estate in Charlbury.

If you have worked within a luxury hotel setting but not in a private house, training will be provided. This is therefore a fantastic opportunity for someone who really wants to learn from the top people within the hospitality industry.

The main factors that we are looking for is someone really personable and friendly who thrives on being in a service-orientated environment. The attention to detail is really important within this role, so if you enjoy working to really high standards then it will be a fantastic step for you.

The family entertain regularly so there is a large team of housekeepers in place to ensure that everyone has two consecutive days off. On the days when guests are staying, the role will involve ensuring all guest rooms are entertaining areas are kept in immaculate condition and on the quieter days there will be more focus on deep cleaning and maintaining everything to a high standard. A summary of duties include the following:-

  • Meticulous cleaning of all areas
  • Happy to take direction and willingness to listen to feedback
  • Maintaining all surfaces, floors, furniture and antiques to the highest standard
  • Ensuring the house is immaculately presented and guest ready at all times
  • Cleaning of bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms and some outside areas
  • Making beds and changing bed linen
  • Laundry - collecting, sorting, washing and ironing
  • Polishing & care of silver, antiques & fine furniture
  • Vacuuming and mopping floors

Experience:

- Previous experience in housekeeping to a very high standard either from a private house or luxury hotel
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks
- Ability to work efficiently and independently

Must have driving license and own car as the house is based in a rural location
- Strong communication skills to interact with guests and team members
