About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking School Caretaker to join our team in Henbury, Bristol. This role is essential for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unlocking the School: Ensure the school is unlocked and ready for use at the start of the day.
- Basic Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep the school in good condition.
- Movement of Bins: Manage the movement of bins and ensure waste is properly disposed of.
- Key-holding Duties: Responsible for the security of the school premises, including locking up after events.
- Minor Repairs: Carry out minor repair work such as fixing fixtures and fittings.
- Practical Skills: Use practical skills for tasks like changing light bulbs and minor plumbing repairs.
- Painting: Maintain the appearance of the school by painting doors, walls, and other surfaces as needed.
- Outdoor Maintenance: Ensure outdoor spaces are clean, tidy, and safe.
- Fixture and Fittings Maintenance: Ensure all fixtures and fittings are in good working order.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience as a caretaker, preferably in a school setting.
- Skills: Basic handyman skills, including minor repairs, maintenance, and painting.
- Reliability: Punctual, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure the school environment is maintained to a high standard.
- Security Awareness: Understand and perform key-holding and security duties effectively.
