Tradewind Recruitment is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic secondary school in Manchester. This role is based in the school's alternative provision unit, providing tailored support to students with diverse needs. We are seeking an experienced and resilient individual who can start immediately and is adept at managing challenging behaviour.

About the Role: As a Teaching Assistant in the alternative provision unit, you will play a key role in supporting students who require additional guidance and assistance. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the learning and emotional needs of students in the alternative provision setting
  • Implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and delivery
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies as required

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Skills: Strong behaviour management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a patient, empathetic approach.
  • Attributes: Resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
