We are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join our client's team in a dynamic educational setting. This role is ideal for someone with a background as a technician in a lab or educational environment, looking to contribute to the success of our science department.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Prepare materials and equipment for science experiments and demonstrations.
- Assist science teachers in setting up and dismantling apparatus for practical lessons.
- Ensure that all laboratory equipment is functional and safe to use.
- Manage the stock of chemicals and laboratory supplies, ensuring that all materials are stored safely.
- Conduct routine safety checks and maintain cleanliness in the labs.
- Support students during lab sessions under the supervision of the teacher.
- Handle and dispose of waste materials in accordance with safety regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Science Technician or similar role in a laboratory or educational setting.
- Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of scientific equipment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment.
