We are currently seeking a Legal Officer (Planning and Property) to join the team at Hammersmith & Fulham on a contract basis. This role is an excellent opportunity to provide expert legal advice on property matters while supporting the council's objectives.
Location:
Hammersmith & Fulham
(1 day per week in the office)
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents and offer advice on Right to Buy, Lease Extensions, Collective Enfranchisement, Licenses for Alterations, Discount Market Sale, Private Sector Leasing, and land acquisitions.
- Manage the creation and discharge of mortgages.
- Assist lawyers with title investigations and property registrations.
- Support Senior Lawyers with compulsory purchase order procedures.
- Provide guidance and supervision to junior Legal Officers, interns, or Legal Assistants.
To Progress to P01, You Must Demonstrate:
- Experience in preparing legal documentation.
- Assistance with compulsory purchase order procedures.
- Experience supervising junior team members.
- Consistent high-quality work and exceptional client care.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Law degree or equivalent.
- Knowledge of property law, with a willingness to develop expertise in planning, highways, or licensing.
