A large housing provider is seeking a Neighbourhood Officer for a temporary role based in Islington. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring neighbourhoods are desirable places to live by conducting estate inspections, addressing anti-social behaviour (ASB), and collaborating with various teams and external partners. Experience with estate inspections and ASB is essential, and court attendance is beneficial but not essential.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Develop and deliver neighbourhood plans and local offers.
  • Conduct regular estate inspections, prioritising fire safety risk assessment follow-up work.
  • Engage with local residents groups to develop community facilities, activities, and events.
  • Collaborate with local partners, including neighbourhood teams, voluntary sector, and youth services, on safety and ASB issues.
  • Liaise with other departments on neighbourhood improvements and services.
  • Visit customers in breach of their tenancy or lease agreement and assess support needs for vulnerable customers.
  • Conduct property viewings, sign-ups, and tenancy assignments.
  • Represent the housing provider in court and provide witness statements as required.
  • Carry out evictions, attend stay hearings, and perform property condition checks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with estate inspections and managing ASB.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, and residents.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering improvements.
  • Court attendance experience is beneficial.
