Job Description: Finance Transformation Lead (D365 Migration)

Position: Finance Transformation Lead
Location: Bristol
Rate: Up to £420pd (Umbrella) Depending on experience
Reports To: Financial Controller/Director of Finance

Overview:

Robert Half are looking to recruit a highly skilled and motivated Finance Transformation Lead to join our Bristol based client and support on the migration from their legacy finance system to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). This role will be instrumental in driving the transformation of the finance function, ensuring a smooth transition to the new platform, and optimising our finance processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and coordinate the migration project to D365, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budget, and scope. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Finance, and external consultants to ensure project success.
  • System Implementation: Work closely with IT and external vendors to configure D365 Finance & Operations modules according to business requirements. Participate in the design, testing, and deployment phases to ensure a seamless transition.
  • Process Optimisation: Analyse current finance processes and work-flows and identify opportunities for improvement and automation in D365. Work with stakeholders to design and implement optimised processes that align with best practice.
  • Data Migration: Oversee the data migration process to D365, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and completeness. Conduct thorough data validation and reconciliation to ensure a successful migration.
  • Training & Change Management: Develop comprehensive training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users to facilitate a smooth transition to D365. Support change management efforts by communicating effectively with stakeholders and addressing concerns.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Utilise D365's reporting and analytics capabilities to develop financial reports and dashboards that provide insights to key stakeholders. Ensure all reporting requirements are met and that data is accessible and accurate.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and system integration testing (SIT) to identify issues and work with relevant teams to resolve them. Ensure that all finance-related functionalities in D365 meet business needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest features and capabilities of D365 and other related technologies. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement to maximise the value of the D365 platform.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the main point of contact between the finance team, IT department, and external consultants. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications/experience that would be beneficial:

  • Experience:

  • Experience in finance transformation, ERP implementation, or a similar role.

  • Proven experience with D365 Finance & Operations or other ERP's

  • Strong project management skills with experience managing complex ERP migration projects.

  • Technical Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of finance and accounting processes and best practice.

  • Proficiency in D365, including data migration, configuration, and customisation.

  • Strong data analysis and financial reporting skills, with experience using Power BI or similar tools.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
