We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Shift Managerto join our team at our Workington Mill. Joining us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return you will receive a competitive salary and become part of our welcoming team.

Holmen Board & Paper is a Swedish company and a member of the Holmen Group. The Workington Mill produces premium paperboard under the brand Incada. Our paperboard is an integral part of the shopping experience for our clients' customers. Since 2013 we have powered the mill almost entirely by fossil fuel free energy. We value our employees and products highly. Today we are approximately 340 co-workers. Our integrated pulp and paperboard mill is located to the west of the beautiful Lake District in the north of England.

Your future challenge:

Are you a Production Manager with great leadership skills? We are looking for a Site Shift Manager who will strive to meet operational KPI's in accordance with Health & Safety, environmental and product quality standards, and in line with the Holmen Core Values of Courage, Commitment and Responsibility. As Site Shift Manager, you will be one of five manager's overseeing the operational shift crews with responsibility through area team leaders and technicians for our production operations across the whole site.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the production team.
  • Achieve the highest standards of product quality against required specifications.
  • Satisfy the customer's service requirements.
  • Lead production teams ensuring the allocation of resources across process areas to optimise production and profitability.
  • Ensure the personal development, training and succession planning of team members.
  • Be involved in mill shut planning and shift maintenance execution and coordination.
  • Act as a lead person on emergency situations and investigations.
  • Collaborate effectively with other shift production teams, area day management teams, maintenance personnel and technical staff.

The successful Site Shift Manager will have:

  • Demonstrable excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of relevant production processes and control systems.
  • Appropriate training in Health & Safety (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely)
  • Appropriate Environmental training - including Duty of Care.
  • Training and experience in Lean processes.
