The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Creative Arts LSA to join our team from September 2024. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in tutoring or working with children, especially those with autism or anxiety. As an LSA, you will support learners who struggle to access the curriculum and may be working several years below expected levels. Your role will be crucial in providing tailored support to help these students engage with and excel in Creative Arts subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism, anxiety, and other challenges.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of Creative Arts lessons, adapting resources to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Support students who are working below expected levels to access and engage with the Creative Arts curriculum.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor student progress and develop strategies to support their learning and development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of individualized learning plans for students requiring additional support.
  • Collaborate with the school's SEN (Special Educational Needs) team and participate in relevant professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with autism, anxiety, or other learning difficulties.
  • Previous experience in tutoring or educational support roles is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Creative Arts subjects and the ability to adapt resources for diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
