Finance Assistant

Role Responsibilities

  • To support the Finance Manager, Managing Director managing the financial aspects of the services offered by the Business.
  • Reconciliation of Financial reports to be completed accurately and by agreed deadlines.
  • To monitor underwriting performance and, under delegated responsibility, make recommendations to the underwriters with regards to pricing.
  • To support the set-up, monitor and maintain adequate systems to report on sales and underwriting both to internal and external customers/partners.
  • To become familiar with our purpose and values, making it core to everything you do and withal interactions with colleagues, our partners and customers must be representative of these values.
  • To reconcile direct debit and credit card collections made into our premium account with system generated reports on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.
  • To report and arrange quarterly payment of commissions
  • Review, prepare and set up of monthly renewal prices
  • Timely generation of invoices as required by the business.
  • To chase debtors as required with the support of Relationship Managers where appropriate.
  • To maintain and upload net pricelists for Buying Group members on a twice monthly basis including latest rebates and prices.
  • To monitor adherence to the purchases of dedicated products by Buying Group
  • Be a point of contact for operational banking and BACS queries - internal and external.
  • Be responsible for keeping up to date with any BACS/banking regulatory changes, share all relevant information when required.
  • To be a representative of the visions and values of the company.
  • To be aware of potential risks within the business that may affect your immediate area of responsibility.

Role Requirements:

  • A solid understanding of MS Excel is essential. This application is used most frequently in the production of reports and other tools used by the business both internally and externally.

  • Methodical in approach to tasks
  • Excellent time management skills

  • Strong communication skills in a variety of media including: email, writing, oral
  • Solid understanding of computer software packages including: MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
