Working with the MD to continue the development of the Water sector within this consultancies Utilities division. Focusing on Digital & Process improvements, Across the Water Network.

Location: - Bristol

Salary: - £80,000 - £90,000 basic + Bonus + Car + Package

Role Description

The Resolute Group has been retained to Identify and recruit an Associate Director to lead and grow the new Bristol office. Leading the Water Engineering division in the South West and Welsh region.

With offices around the UK the new Bristol office will pull together smaller satellite offices and create a new Engineering hub servicing the South West and Welsh regions. Reporting into the Water Director for the UK, this region will be delivering a mix of AMP8 Frameworks, individual projects and developing other revenue streams within the South West region.

The organisation is backed by hedge fund investors, making them cash-rich and in a position to can out a sustained period of growth across the business. This role is key to establishing a larger presence in the South West / Welsh water region, managing a small team of engineers already in place but working remotely.

Day-to-day duties will vary but could include:

  • Develop and maintain key client relationships with local water clients and Tier 1 contractors.
  • Lead on work winning through bid management; production of proposals, fees, scope definition, and quality answers in response to client tenders, in accordance with company bid management system
  • Identify opportunities to promote value propositions with water clients
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment across teams and Practices to ensure successful delivery of projects.
  • Lead the efficient delivery of projects to meet programme and budget, complying with business management governance
  • Accountability for profitable delivery of projects and effective risk management
  • Undertake technical design and/or review and supervision of project teams' design deliverables including engineering design calculations, drawings and report writing complying with Company design management system
  • Lead on quality and safe design of technical solutions for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes.
  • Champion the application of digital engineering initiatives and execution of innovative advances in water sector solutions
  • Mentoring and line management responsibilities for team members from graduates to less experienced senior team members.
  • Provide technical leadership in Water Engineering

This position is a hybrid role working between the office, home and client sites as required. There isn't a fixed company policy to follow, more about giving you the autonomy to making the region a successful office.

Your background: -

  • Water sector experience - You need to have a background in the water sector understanding the key organisations and how the supply chains work. This is vital when creating and delivering a business plan for your division.
  • Proven leadership - You need to have experience in controlling a business unit, setting out a
  • business strategy, goals, financial targets and how to achieve them as the day-to-day running of your team.
  • Education - You need to be degree qualified as a minimum, ideally Chartered as this will help with tenders and the bidding process.
