Having secured two significant projects for full GIS substation builds, we are poised for a busy and exciting workstream over the next five years.

The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of transformative high voltage projects in Scotland. As part of our dedicated team, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial and commercial success of our projects, working closely with our talented professionals and stakeholders.

This role will provide commercial leadership with opportunities to work at a framework and project levels in all aspects of commercial control but with a real focus on the cost - value reconciliation capability. You will also have in-depth experience of developing and applying subcontracts using the NEC3 or NEC4 (Option A & C) form of contract within the power sector or similar relevant industry sector. This role will be required to coordinate effectively with the wider project teams on matters of cost and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the commercial function for high voltage projects, including cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and reporting on project performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide expert advice on contract management, procurement, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Extensive experience in high voltage projects, preferably with leading DNOs in the UK, including SSEN, Scottish Power, or National Grid.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • A proactive and results-driven approach, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth experience of developing and applying subcontracts using the NEC3 or NEC4 (Option A & C) form of contract within the power sector or similar relevant industry sector.

Contract on offer -

  • A minimum of £450/day OUTSIDE IR35
  • Hybrid working - 2/3 days in office per month and 2/3 days on site per month
