This organisation operates a 24-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit in Llanelli, providing a supportive and dynamic environment for both patients and staff. The Role:
As a Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will work within a dedicated and highly skilled team, contributing to the rehabilitation and recovery of individuals with a wide range of complex needs, including cognitive, behavioural, physical, and emotional difficulties following brain injuries.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality occupational therapy using a neurobehavioural model.
  • Managing a diverse caseload and prioritising tasks effectively.
  • Supervising therapy assistants and rehabilitation support workers as part of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Working with patients to regain independence in areas such as social, leisure, and vocational activities.
  • Conducting complex risk assessments and developing tailored care plans.
  • Engaging in service development and research to enhance the organisation's approach to neurorehabilitation.

You will work under the supervision of the Clinical Lead OT, with access to specialist training and professional development opportunities.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Experience in neurological rehabilitation and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.
  • The ability to manage a complex caseload and formulate comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Experience in supervising and training others.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
