The employer: founded in the UK in 2012, our client is a leader in employing cutting edge technologies with a dedicated fibre network and cloud-based IT system to deliver energy-saving BMS, lighting, energy, and metering services. As the energy sector expands, so does their business.

The position: the successful individual will work closely with the Managing Director by being responsible for the day to day operations of the business, whilst also providing financial advice and reports to enable the business to maintain their growth plans. You will have significant experience in finance and be focused on the numbers to support the CEO / MD with business critical decisions. You will also lead and develop the Management team to ensure company objectives are achieved.

Operations & Finance Director

£75-95k (DOE) | Mon-Fri | 8am-4:30pm | Elmstead Market | Working closely with the CEO and MD | Running the day to day operations of the business | Providing the right information, and advising on key business decisions

Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Supporting the MD with the day-to-day operational running of the business including HR, Health & Safety, Solutions delivery, Profit margins, Customer Satisfaction, Employee Welfare responsibilities
  • Compiling monthly management / financial reports /data
  • Advising the board on financial decisions based on reports and findings
  • Leading and developing the management team being the go between for them and the MD / CEO
  • Ensuring the company remains compliant in all areas by making the right enquiries and delegating effectively

Person Specification:

  • 3 years' experience as an Operations Director or Finance Director essential
  • Experience of working within the Built Environment, IT or similar business with a site team (ideally with BMS systems) preferred but not essential
  • Detailed understanding of ISO standards and how they integrate with Operations
  • In depth knowledge of Health & Safety with IOSH qualification (or equivalent) preferred
  • Proven experience of HR practices and ability to negotiate, mentor and lead teams
  • Ability to shape company policies and procedures
  • A proven leader with experience working in a fast-growing business
  • Experience swiftly producing business critical financial information and reports essential
  • Proven experience of financial forecasting, meeting budgets, reviewing margins and controlling costs
  • Experience of achieving new business and delivering results
  • Ability to demonstrate effective client engagement
  • A thorough understanding of working within the SMT and business confidentiality
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Keen eye for detail, completer-finisher and a 'hands on' approach
  • Proactive decision maker comfortable with recommending and implementing key business decisions
  • Active on business social media (LinkedIn etc)
