Empowering Learning is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a thriving secondary school in Hillingdon for a passionate and dedicated Religious Studies Teacher to join their team starting September 2024.

About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Religious Studies Teacher who is eager to inspire and educate students in this important subject. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons, fostering a respectful and inclusive classroom environment, and encouraging students to explore and understand various religious traditions and ethical perspectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Religious Studies to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Create a positive learning environment that promotes respect, understanding, and a love of learning.
  • Engage with parents and carers to support student learning and development.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extracurricular activities and events.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT
  • A degree in Religious Studies or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Religious Studies at the secondary level is desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
