Are you an experienced Warehouse Supervisor looking for an exciting opportunity in a leading distribution warehouse? Our client, a renowned supplier of industrial equipment, is seeking a proactive and highly organised individual to join their dynamic team as a Warehouse Supervisor specifically leading the Goods In department.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of stock entering the warehouse, including unloading containers, inspecting stock, managing stock levels, and booking in products. You will also have the opportunity to build and lead a team of colleagues to ensure efficient stock management.
Full-time, permanent role - fully on-site.
Monday-Friday: 40 hours a week - flexible hours
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum
Location: Wigan
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and plan for expected deliveries from suppliers.
- Receive goods from suppliers, conducting inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Lead and motivate a small team of 4 in the Goods In Dept, providing direction and support.
- Efficiently load and unload containers.
- Review and optimise the layout of product locations as needed.
- Process documentation and accurately book in received items.
- Conduct regular stock taking and checks.
- Utilise the in-house computer system for inventory control.
- Communicate with multiple departments regarding stock levels and defects.
- Continuously review and maximise warehouse space utilisation.
- Proactively minimise mis-picks through accurate product descriptions and barcodes.
- Set and achieve performance targets for the goods inwards department.
- Implement effective stock management and control procedures.
- Perform general warehouse duties.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience within a goods inwards department.
- Previous experience in team management.
- Proficiency in using computers.
- Strong multitasking abilities.
- Hands-on approach to all duties.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Strong team player.
- Bendi and counterbalance FLT licence (desirable but training can be provided).
