We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a GOOD rated Ofsted primary school in Camden, London. This full-time role will begin in September 2024.
Role Overview: As a Teaching Assistant in the Early Years department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and learning of young children, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment tailored to the individual needs of each child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to children with SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials as needed.
- Support the classroom teacher in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Monitor and report on students' progress and development.
- Help manage classroom behavior and implement positive behavior strategies.
- Participate in school activities, trips, and events, supporting students as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Requirements:
- Experience working with young children, particularly those with SEN.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children's learning and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
