- Proactively engage in completing and review of all Financial Reporting and Control team deliverables, including Head Office reporting under UKGAAP, JGAAP and US GAAP.
- Coordination of statutory accounts production, both with internal stakeholders and with external auditors to complete the year-end Annual Report
- Regular and proactive liaison with other areas of the firm including Product Control, Regulatory Reporting, Tax and Front Office to ensure that financial reporting deliverables are completed in a prompt and
- effective manner
- Involvement in various new business initiatives to provide inputs relating to Financial reporting & control impacting aspects
- Oversight of the monthly balance sheet substantiation process and contribution to ongoing improvements
- Liaise with the SOX team to ensure that all SOX submissions are completed on a timely basis
- Constant improvement of process to ensure that reporting risks are mitigated.
- Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Financial Reporting and Control team which will include staff appraisals and objective setting.
- Ensure workload is evenly distributed within the team and that all processes can be covered during times of absence.
- Management of the off-shore based Financial reporting team and managing the interaction between London and offshore team members to ensure organisational goals are met
- Understanding of developments in UK GAAP and IFRS, and ability to manage the coordination of impact analysis across the group and communicate the impact to stakeholders
- Apply technical knowledge of UK GAAP & IFRS requirements to identify accounting/financial reporting impacts for new product/business initiatives and how these need to be suitably addressed
- Liaison with auditors and Head Office around changes in accounting or subjective areas.
- Perform any other ad-hoc assignments or initiatives as required by the Head of Financial Reporting.
Essential
- Accounting background
- Fully qualified accountant or equivalent experience
- Banking/FS experience
- Demonstrated relevant experience within a financial reporting role
- Good understanding of accounting or investment banking products (bonds, repos, derivatives)
- Experience in managing a team
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft applications, particularly Excel)
- Demonstrated working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, and ability to apply the same in a practical manner Qualifications
