An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, qualified accountant to take on the role of European R2R Section Manager within a dynamic, multinational finance operations team. This pivotal position offers a chance to drive process improvements, enhance data quality, and ensure compliance across a fast-paced European finance function. Role:
As the European R2R Section Manager, you will be a key player in the finance operations team, responsible for managing critical record-to-report (R2R) activities. Collaborating closely with FP&A, Group Finance, and an outsourced Shared Service Centre, you will oversee the timely and accurate completion of month-end close processes.
You will also support process transitions, drive improvements, and act as a subject matter expert in financial reporting and compliance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working in a collaborative environment, and making a tangible impact on financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end close activities, including revenue recognition, inventory reporting, and lease accounting, ensuring adherence to IFRS standards.
- Supervise shared service teams, monitor KPIs, and address performance issues to ensure timely and accurate financial inputs.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, focusing on enhancing data quality and optimizing month-end procedures.
- Support the transition of R2R activities across European entities, acting as interim manager where needed and providing expertise in functional restructuring.
- Maintain compliance with governance frameworks, including SOX, and update processes in line with regulatory changes.
- Mentor and manage a team of R2R specialists, providing clear objectives, coaching, and performance feedback.
About You:
- You are a technically skilled, qualified accountant with a solid understanding of IFRS and experience in a financial control environment.
- You have managed finance shared service providers and thrive in a multi-cultural, European setting.
- With excellent communication skills and a self-driven mindset, you excel in building relationships with stakeholders and leading high-performing teams. Experience with systems like SAP, Hyperion, and S4Hana is advantageous.
