We are looking for a Finance Team Leader to lead our team of 12 staff members. This role involves driving a culture of continuous improvement in delivering services to our business. You will be responsible for managing and reviewing the reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts, including bank accounts, staff loan accounts, fees ledger accounts, and payroll-related accounts. The ideal candidate will foster a service-oriented environment and be a key member of our Newcastle based Shared Services team.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Supervise the finance team and support the manager in driving service excellence.
  • Manage and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts for various global entities.
  • Handle bank reconciliations, process payments, and maintain accurate cash received records.
  • Deal with audit requirements and general ledger queries.
  • Review and implement process improvements and controls.
  • Conduct monthly one-to-ones with team members and manage direct line responsibilities.
  • Assist in cross-training duties and preparing standard procedure documentation.
  • Ensure the team meets all targets and deadlines and provide excellent customer service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Part or fully qualified in ACCA/CIMA or another relevant accounting body.
  • Proven management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in meeting monthly/annual deadlines and prioritising workload.
  • General ledger reconciliation and account management experience.
  • Transactional processing experience, including journal entries and payment processing.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and ERP Finance Systems like Oracle or JDE.
  • Experience in a Finance Shared Service Centre environment is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation skills, and a strong customer service focus.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
