Our Client a national manufacturing company are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Assistant Procurement Manager to assist in ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services, negotiating contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships to support our operational needs.
Reporting to and working alongside the Procurement Manager, duties to include:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organisational goals.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their procurement needs and provide effective solutions.
- Utilise systems such as Oracle EBS and SAP to manage procurement activities and track inventory levels.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
- Negotiate favourable terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues that may arise to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier information.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a managerial role and a background in the food industry could be beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of logistics principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using procurement systems such as Oracle EBS or SAP is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of achieving successful outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- A degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
