Location: Maidstone, Kent

Type: Permanent, full time (office based)

Salary: £25000 basic + commission (OTE £35000pa)

Reporting to: Group Sales Manager

Industry: Media and Publications - working on one specific magazine

My client is a well-established magazine publisher who is looking for an experienced sales professional (preferably within media, advertising or publications) to join their team in their Maidstone office on a permanent basis.

Working from their CRM system, you will be following up with previous clients and managing existing accounts as well as generating leads and developing new business.

You will be required to travel to trade shows in London, Birmingham and Germany therefore a passport is essential and a driving licence is desirable.

Job purpose: To achieve agreed sales targets and ensure successful administration of all copy to meet the production schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To achieve sales targets as agreed by the Media Director (this will be agreed annually & monthly)
  • To ensure that all client copy is received and sent to production within the magazine deadline.
  • To accurately provide the relevant paperwork to the Journal Secretary for invoicing purposes.
  • To ensure the magazine is sent to the printers by the agreed upon deadline.

Job Description:

  • Telephone and email liaison with both clients and agents. This involves approximately 40 - 50 positive sales and follow up calls per day, whilst building up a rapport with clients / agents through regular contact.
  • To ensure sufficient sales to achieve publication despatch date as advised annually.
  • To ensure signed confirmation of orders are received and accurately administered before moving any advertising copy to the production services and passing the confirmation to the Journal Secretary.
  • To attend shows and exhibitions relevant to the Magazine you are working on. You may be expected to spend some time away from home to attend these shows.
  • To liaise with all magazine team members to ensure the smooth running of the publication.
  • To know at all times the confirmed revenue for the current and future issues in addition to sales awaiting final processing.
  • To occasionally carry out other duties, as are within your capabilities and level of responsibility, in order to meet the needs of the business.
