RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

  • To support the site in pursuing business objectives.
  • To assist with the identification, development and implementation of operational improvements.
  • To ensure continuity of production of quality parts ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved.
  • To ensure that quality, cost and delivery are continually improved.
  • To ensure that all work meets customer (internal and external) expectations on delivery and quality.
  • To be flexible and adaptable within work area.

KEY JOB DESCRIPTION

  • To conduct daily activities in a safe and quality conscious manner.
  • To ensure that high standards of health, safety and housekeeping are consistently met.
  • To assist in the forging of parts as per the forge instruction sheet by:
  • Completing records and monitoring of process parameters before and during forging. Plan the running order to ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved.
  • Ensure the Forge Instruction Sheet is diligently followed to include soak times, temperatures and hammer process, thus ensuring product integrity.
  • Validate the sequence of numbers allocated to each part.
  • Set the pace for the running order, ensuring the furnaces are balanced as effectively as possible.
  • Manage material movement throughout the Forge.
  • Accurate administration of all records.
  • Ensure all quality policies and processes are fully adhered to.
  • Liaise with production management to ensure that the production plan is fully achieved and proactively support any short-term changes.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duty as requested by the management team.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in an industrial/heavy manufacturing environment would be beneficial
  • Knowledge and application of safe working practices.
  • Knowledge and experience in quality systems and procedures.
  • High level of numeracy
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Experience of working in an engineering environment.
  • Fork Lift Truck Driving (desired)
  • Pendant crane (desired)
  • Confined space (desired)
  • Abrasive wheels (desired)

Hours of work

Week 1:

Monday – Thursday 06:00 – 14:00

Friday 06:00 – 15:30

Week 2:

Monday - Thursday 14:00 - 23:00

Friday 14:00 - 18:30
