Pertemps are looking to recruit on behalf of our client, a
YARD OPERATIVE
in the
Dunston
area of North East England.
A full UK drivers licence is essential for this role.
The Role
- We are currently recruiting for a passionate and hard working Yard Operative to join our busy service team.
- Responsible for preparing access equipment for delivery to customers.
- To be successful in this role you will have good basic mechanical ability.
- A willingness to learn about our machinery.
- Dedication to ensure the yard and workshop areas are maintained to highest standards.
- Monday to Friday
- 8 - 5pm.
- £11.50 per hour
Duties
- Assisting service engineers as necessary with repairs and inspections on the company's rental fleet
- Organise movement of machines from yard to workshop and back to designated areas
- Coordinate with engineers to identify damage and repairs required on returned machines
- Carry out basic assessment, washing, refuelling of machines as required.
- Good housekeeping of yard and workshop areas in line with company Lean Processes.
- Ensure the overall upkeep the car park and grass areas
- Ad hoc duties as they arise.
- Temp to perm for the right candidate.
The Person
- Excellent communication skills and fluent English
- Flexible attitude to varied work, both indoors and outdoors
- Some mechanical experience in construction machinery or access equipment
- Commitment to excellent customer service and safety
- Ability to work without supervision
- Demonstrate flexible approach to working hours
- Awareness of health & safety issues
- Able to work on own initiative and take pride in keeping the yard neat, tidy and organised
- Full drivers licence
- This role would suit a mature person with a strong work ethic and can do attitude
