Mental Health Nurse

We need passionate and experienced mental health nurses to join a well-established team at an acute hospital in South East England, assisting and supporting general hospital colleagues in making treatment and care decisions in complex situations.

Description:
As a staff nurse / preceptorship nurse, your responsibilities will include:

  • Upholding our core values of promoting openness, transparency, and learning
  • Effectively managing shifts and attending regular meetings to review and monitor patients' care plans
  • Building relationships with patients to foster trust while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns
  • Ensuring the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitoring side effects
  • Accurately recording patient information and communicating with the multidisciplinary team regarding patient care needs
  • Offering support and supervising junior staff and student nurses to ensure safe and effective nursing practice in a secure environment
  • Performing administrative duties, including screening, assessment, and follow-up support of patients
  • Providing care and support to patients and families while working effectively as part of the wider multidisciplinary team

Skills:

  • Registered Nurse with current registration (Mental Health / LD / Adult) appropriate to the job role
  • Knowledge of child and adult safeguarding procedures
  • Change management, organizing, and prioritizing workloads
  • Ability to enhance care through evidence-based knowledge
  • Professional development relevant to the care group
  • Ability to assess and manage clinical risk
