Job Title: HR Advisor

Location: Worcester WR21

Contract Type: 9 Months Maternity Cover

Weekly Hours: 35

Working Hours and Breaks: 9a.m - 5p.m

Salary: £15.17 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive and pragmatic HR advice and support to managers, employees, and partners in line with organizational policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Support the delivery of the HR Business Plan to meet Directorate and organizational HR objectives, such as the People Strategy.
  • Advise on absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and a range of employment and employee relations matters.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with managers, partners, colleagues, and union representatives, establishing professional credibility.
  • Lead the management of casework related to discipline, grievance, and sickness absence, including advice and support to managers, liaising with Occupational Health, case review meetings, and dismissal decision hearings.
  • Support the development and maintenance of a performance management culture within the Directorate, including developing managers' skills in this area and advising on performance-related casework.
  • Provide professional advice to Investigating Officers in formal investigations, interviews, and report writing.
  • Offer HR advice and support to managers undertaking change programs, including redundancy and TUPE.
  • Drive performance and attainment of HR KPIs for casework, sickness absence, and change activity.
  • Provide focused support to employees registered on the Redeployment Programme.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc management information reports to support continuous improvement in the management and monitoring of sickness absence and performance management.

Person Specification

Expertise

  • Part CIPD qualified or educated to NVQ level 4 or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g., human resources, business).
  • Significant experience providing business-focused, pragmatic HR advice.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR practices and procedures.
  • Detailed knowledge of employment law principles, case law, and codes of practice.
  • Experience with key HR performance measures and using data to target service delivery.
  • Significant experience working in a human resources environment.
  • Experience producing statistical reports and documentation using information technology.

  • Ability to understand, interpret, and provide advice on diverse terms, conditions, policies, and practices, and relate them to existing employment and case law.
