Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Teacher to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bentley, Doncaster. Our school specialises in working with children who exhibit challenging behaviours, anti-social tendencies, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth.
  • Employ a variety of teaching strategies to engage students with diverse learning styles.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using positive behaviour support techniques.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, including teaching assistants, therapists, and external agencies, to provide holistic support for students.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and SEMH support.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a PRU or with children who have SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
