About the role:
As our Document Controller, you'll be at the heart of our scheme joining our established construction department in vibrance of Central Birmingham. Picture this: 628 units spread across 8-storey, 12-storey, and 27-storey blocks. You'll collaborate with our Design Coordination team, external consultants, and the entire site crew to keep information flowing seamlessly.
Responsibilities will include:

  • Information Management: Proficiently administer Drawings, Reports, and Tracker information using our Document Management System and iDrive.
  • Coordination Expertise: Assist in preparing site instructions, RFIs (Request for Information), and Technical Submission trackers. Your organisational skills will be pivotal.
  • Administrative Proficiency: Provide support to our site staff-handling tasks such as stationery procurement, report printing, and ensuring RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement) and Risk evaluations are meticulously organised.
  • Risk Monitoring: Report to the Design Manager any risks, slippages in the issuing of information on the programme, and lack of coordination on the drawing and specification received from the design team and D&B subcontractors.
  • M&E Coordination: Serve as the bridge between design and execution, ensuring seamless coordination of M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) information.
  • Issuing Information Drawings and Packages: Collaborate with subcontractors and consultants to distribute information drawings and packages and assist in maintaining an issue register, to track all information distributed by the design team.
  • Attendance at Meetings: Attend site and design team meetings, ensuring that the information required by the site is delivered promptly, and actively manage the drawing and specification received register on-site from design team members, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Preparation of O&M (Operations and Maintenance) Documents: Assist in preparing O&M manuals and ensure that record documents are received and filed appropriately for administration staff to issue during building handover.

What you will need to succeed:
Construction Acumen: Previous site administration experience, with construction terminology at your fingertips.Effective Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Autonomous and Collaborative: Thrive independently while valuing teamwork.Time Management: Adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.Desirable Skills: Familiarity with Aconex and some Design Coordination experience.
