Maintenance Electrician - Days Only
We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Maintenance Electrician to join our dynamic Maintenance team in Carlisle. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a modern, high-volume manufacturing environment where your expertise will be vital in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment.
Key Details:
- Location: Carlisle
- Salary: £45,000 per annum
- Hours: 40 hours per week (initially 08:00-16:00, Monday to Friday). Flexibility is required for the occasional 3-shift rotating pattern and weekends.
What You'll Be Doing: As a Maintenance Electrician, you'll play a key role in keeping our equipment running smoothly, improving safety, quality, and overall efficiency. You'll use your fault-finding skills to diagnose electrical problems on PLC-controlled machinery and carry out necessary repairs and preventative maintenance. Working closely with the Maintenance Leadership Team, you'll also support mechanical team members when needed, ensuring seamless collaboration across the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on automated systems using PLC diagnostic skills
- Conducting regular preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems
- Assisting with electrical installations as required
- Collaborating with IT to address network system issues at the machine level
- Training and mentoring apprentices within the team
- Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and company procedures
Skills and Experience We're Looking For:
- NVQ LEVEL 3 or Higher such as a HNC
- 17th/18th Edition qualification (preferred)
- Knowledge of Siemens PLC control systems
- Proficiency in fault-finding on AC/DC motors and servo drive systems
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical control drawings
- A motivated, resilient approach and ability to work effectively under pressure
