Oracle Senior Analyst Developer

We are currently hiring for a Senior Analyst Developer with Oracle experience to join one of our Higher Education clients on a 6-month contract.

Hybrid- 2/3 days a week onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse available documentation that relates to the proposed development to help describe stories.
  • Gain insight from interacting with users directly to help improve development targeted at user needs.
  • Utilise the available business analysis output with direction from a product owner to refine large scale features into a backlog of smaller implementable stories
  • Evaluate different possible design solutions to achieve the story definitions considering security.
  • Ensure the production of user interface designs that optimise user experience and align with wider UCL standards
  • Develop software using specialist programming techniques and in-depth technical expertise ensuring that others are able to reuse
  • Follow a test driven approach to find faults as early as possible in the development lifecycle to minimise later rework and defects in service
  • Proactive approach to code quality by ensuring appropriate testing and coverage at all test levels
  • Perform fault fixes and make decisions on the best approach to resolving problems
  • Operate defined release management processes for both production and user acceptance test (UAT) environments
  • Manage the version control of any software code that is developed using standard UCL tools
  • Implementing suitable safeguards such as user access controls to ensure the integrity of those environments
  • Provide support for critical or complex issues, following standard ITIL incident, problem, change and capacity management processes
  • Collaborate with service management and contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) of critical
  • Document, review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with respect to support operations, as and when needed
  • Optionally line manage a team of technical staff in accordance with UCL's management frameworks to set clear objectives, performance manage and promote development

Experience:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Industry recognized software development qualification Desirable
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle stages
  • Knowledge and experience of application software design including the design of multi-tier solutions, data structures, security, user interfaces and web services
  • Substantial experience in at least one IT solution development disciplines, including application development, integration, security, technical architecture, IT infrastructure, networking, identity, middleware or database management. Essential I
  • Knowledge and experience of software and application testing methods and familiarity with TDD and BDD approach in the development process.
  • Knowledge and experience of automation techniques using a multitude of automation toolsets
  • Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) in developing web applications to meet international W3C standards in accessibility.
  • significant knowledge of Oracle eBusiness Suite, preferably at any point release of R12.
  • Knowledge of ITIL support processes including release management, the ability to supervise other technical staff if necessary, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to colleagues at all levels.
  • Mandatory skills are Oracle RDBMS (including familiarity with EBS HR and/or Financials schemas), PL/SQL, SQL (high level) and Java (J2EE low to mid level).
  • Experience with Oracle Workflow, AME, UMX, Oracle Application Framework (OAF), Application Development Framework (ADF), BI/XML Publisher, Web services (REST in particular), Internet SOA Gateway (ISG) and Oracle Forms.
