Our dynamic and growing Client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the payroll functions for our diverse client base, with a particular focus on our valued client based in North London.

Client Focus:
One of your primary responsibilities will be overseeing the payroll for our esteemed client located in North London. This client has a dedicated team of 7-20 employees, and you will ensure that their payroll is processed accurately and efficiently, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

Role Description:
As the sole Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll processes for our clients, which range from small to medium-sized businesses with employee counts varying from 7 to 20 per client. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work both remotely and in our office, providing flexibility and work-life balance. The salary range for this role is between £40,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Process weekly and monthly payrolls for multiple clients accurately and timely
  • Calculate and process statutory pay, including sick pay, maternity pay, and holiday pay
  • Handle starters and leavers, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed
  • Liaise with clients to gather payroll information and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records and generate payroll reports for clients and management
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll legislation and regulations
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as HR and Finance, to ensure smooth payroll operations

Required Skillset:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role, preferably within an accountancy practice
  • In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation and regulations
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships
  • AAT or CIPP qualification is highly desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
