Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator

We have an exciting position available as a Purchasing & Logistics Assistant with our client based on the outskirts of Newbury, just north of Chievely (RG20), West Berkshire. Join their dynamic and growing team, where you will be responsible for a range of key tasks to support their operations. Responsibilities:

  • Processing sales orders on SAP
  • Raising purchase orders on SAP
  • Handling sample requests
  • Liaising with suppliers and customers regarding orders, schedules, and deliveries
  • Assisting sales and estimating teams with up-to-date price lists and order statuses
  • Managing collections and deliveries from overseas, working closely with hauliers
  • Scheduling deliveries to UK sites
  • Preparing dispatch notes
  • Maintaining an accurate log of collections and deliveries
  • Obtaining proof of deliveries
  • Supporting the team with various ad hoc duties

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a purchasing and logistics role is ideal but not essential
  • Knowledge of SAP Business One or a similar system would be preferable
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on building positive relationships
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office package
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver under pressure of deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining high-quality work
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workload, following directions with minimal supervision
  • A team player with the ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
  • Highest level of integrity and professionalism
  • Competent, self-motivated, and proactive
  • Ability to use own initiative to identify and resolve issues
  • Educated to at least a minimum of GCSE Level grade C
