Reed Food & FMCG have been briefed to recruit for a Specification Technologist to join a Food Manufacturing Business in Wiltshire, this role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity leave. There will be a period of handover before starting.

Job Title: Specification Technologist
Job Type: 12 Month FTC

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Per Annum
Working week: Mon – Friday (9am-5pm)
Start date: November.
Our client is also open to the idea of someone taking this opportunity on, on a 2 day per week consultancy basis. Day rate.
Some Key Responsibilities:
- Create and review finished product specifications
- Provide all Technical detail for generation of new artwork (eg shelf life, nutrition, ingredient declaration, weights, storage guidelines, allergen information)
- Review and approve packaging and product artwork
- Generate outer case labels, Catering, Single serve and Bulk product labels, and export product labels
- Inform business of any changes to labelling requirements for all relevant markets, including export
- Answer questions from colleagues and customers relating to product specifications, raw materials and labelling
Candidate specification:
- Must have specification experience within the food industry, been a spec tech or worked in a similar role.
- Knowledge of food processing and legislation to produce information which complies with legal and customer requirements
- Use of customer specification systems. e.g. Waitrose WPP, M&S FIND, Hamilton Grant, Erudus
