REED are recruiting on behalf of an Education Establishment based in Bournemouth for a Purchase Ledger Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Finance team, with great benefits and Hybrid working on offer.

The ideal candidate should have proven track record of overseeing a purchase ledger team that processes high volumes of invoices / transactional data.

Full Time, Car Driver

Duties include:

  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the purchase ledger team and will be an escalation point for queries from staff and suppliers regarding payments and invoices.
  • The post holder will oversee the weekly supplier BACS payment run, coordinating with internal customers, external suppliers and bank signatories to ensure payments are processed on time.
  • A key element of the role is managing the flow of work, prioritising accordingly and producing weekly KPIs for senior management.
  • In addition, monitoring the aged creditors report and supplier reconciliations to ensure the purchase ledger is accurately maintained.

Requirements:

  • You need to be a quick thinker who can evidence your aptitude for problem solving whilst overseeing the work of the team and working to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication, team direction and prioritisation skills are all essential criteria for this role.
  • Experience in implementing new systems and process improvements is preferable because enhancements to the purchase ledger are planned within the next 12 months.
