Maintenance Engineer Required!

Our client is a global manufacturer and supplier of optical components for scientific equipment. They are now looking for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Engineer to perform mechanical and electrical repairs on a range of industrial machinery.

Package:

  • Mon-Thu 08:00-16:45 and Fri 08:00-15:15.
  • Salary £30,000 - £37,000 (DOE)
  • Company pension scheme.

Maintenance Engineer - Responsibilities:

  • Performing hands-on maintenance and mechanical repairs on a variety of industrial machinery.
  • Operating machines, including manual lathe work, milling, and drilling, to produce custom tools and components for production use.
  • Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager and addressing machinery breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical faults.
  • Sourcing or fabricating specialized components, fixtures, or fittings and managing related equipment and supplies.
  • Assembling and erecting machinery.
  • Carrying out building maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Working with mechanical systems, including bearings, pumps, valves, and chains.
  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.

Maintenance Engineer - Requirements:

  • Experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
  • Over 3 years of experience as a manual machinist.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail with strong numeracy skills.
  • Effective planning and time management skills, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
