Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Technician to join a dynamic school located in Cheshire West. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive educational environment, where you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school's IT systems. The position is offered on a temporary basis initially, with the potential to become a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support to staff and students, resolving IT issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain and manage the school's network infrastructure, hardware, and software.
- Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT equipment, including PCs, laptops, interactive whiteboards, printers, and other peripherals.
- Monitor and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in line with school policies.
- Ensure the security of data and systems, including regular backups and updates.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and contribute to IT-related projects within the school.
- Provide training and guidance to staff and students on the use of IT resources.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an IT Technician, preferably within an educational environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, network administration, and IT hardware.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with both staff and students.
- Ability to manage workload and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Full right to work in the UK is essential (sponsorship is not available for this role).
Desirable:
- Experience with school-specific software and systems (e.g., SIMS, Google Workspace for Education, etc.)
- Relevant IT qualifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications) are an advantage.
