1:1 Teaching Assistant

Here at Long-Term Teachers we have an exciting opportunity to work as a 1:1 teaching assistant at a rapidly growing and inclusive school we work closely with. Our school works to support students with complex and diverse special needs which includes speech, language and communication difficulties, sensory impairments and/or physical disabilities.

As a teaching assistant, you will have the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for students with specific needs
  • Support the classroom teacher by assisting with displays of students' work, planning learning activities and behaviour management
  • Contribute to the monitoring and implementation of educational health care plans (EHCP's)
  • Promoting the safeguarding, welfare and personal care of young people with additional needs
  • Be a positive role model

Previous experience in working with children with special educational needs is preferred. You will be expected to work 8:50am - 5pm on a Monday and 8:50am - 3:30pm Tuesday - Friday, although part time hours are available.
