Requirements:

  • At least a bachelor's degree in psychology, or a related field.
  • A passion for the wellbeing and education of SEN pupils.
  • Commitment to following safeguarding procedures.
  • Dedication to delivering high-quality support to students across the curriculum in both 1:1 and small group bases.
  • Previous experience of working with children, or in a school setting, is beneficial but not mandatory.

The Role

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will assist teaching staff in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons that adhere to the national curriculum. You will assess classwork and monitor progress to identify any extra support needs. You will accommodate extra support needs via the adaptation of lesson plans and learning materials to suit the requirements of each individual student. It is essential that you build positive relationships with both pupils and staff to create a positive learning environment and to achieve this, you will assist in both extra-curricular activities, and events with the wider school community.
