Capital Modelling Consultant - Qualifiec Life Insurance Actuarial

London or Edinburgh - Hybrid

£75,000 - £110,000 per annum

This role is an opportunity for a qualified actuary with experience in capital modelling to act as a subject matter expert within the consultancy field, advising clients in the UK and overseas on matters around capital modelling. The role requires you to be both technically strong and highly personal, as you will be generating and proposing ideas and solutions to clients.

This is a superb opportunity for a life insurance actuary with strong experience within capital modelling to join a prominent and growing UK based consultancy. This consultancy has a vast network offering you the chance to work with a wide range of insurance and reinsurance clients in the UK and across the globe.

You will act as a subject matter expert around the subject of capital modelling, generating and proposing ideas and solutions to clients in order to help them achieve their business's goals.

Day to day of the role:

  • Providing high quality support and advice to our insurance and reinsurance clients
  • Delivering to our clients as a subject matter expert
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients all whilst building a strong network
  • Identifying and developing further consultancy opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Helping to promote our insurance offerings to a wider audience, including presenting at conferences and producing thought leadership
  • Developing and shaping new propositions to take to our clients and prospects

We are looking for:

  • Qualified Actuary
  • Life Insurance experience
  • Significant experience in building capital models and/or developing capital modelling methodology
  • Solvency II/Solvency UK requirements experience, either 'in-house' at an insurer or in consulting
  • Project-lead experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Capital modelling, including Solvency II Internal Models or other Economic Capital models
  • Internal Model validation
  • Solvency II/UK requirements
  • Matching Adjustment applications
