Location: Dechmont, West Lothian
Salary: £12 per hour
Contract: Part-time, permanent
Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday (9am-3pm)

Elm Cottage Care Ltd is a small Residential Care Home for Adults with Learning Disabilities and is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, honest, and reliable person to join their team of support workers within a privately owned care home in Dechmont; near Uphall and would be committed to maintaining our high standard of care.

Support Worker - The Role

To assist the residents with all aspects of their daily life including but not limited to daily routines as set out within care plans, mealtimes, personal care, and domestic support.
Support residents to go on social outings and attend appointments. To have a good understanding of effective communication in a professional manner with residents, colleagues and families, and other professionals. To support residents to partake in meaningful activities and promote independence.

  • Understanding of responsibilities for safeguarding vulnerable adults.
  • Driver's licence is essential.

Candidates are required to work well as part of a team and contribute a positive difference to the lives of the people we care for and support, ensuring we provide the best outcome for each individual.
A Clean UK's Driver's License is essential. PVG check would be carried out after the interview.

SVQ 2 is also desirable however not essential as opportunities would be available to the right person who would be willing to work towards gaining these qualifications.
Registration with SSSC would be necessary within 3 months of employment.

To be prepared to "Whistle Blow" in any situation of abuse. You are responsible and legally required, under the " Public Interest Disclosures Act" 1998, to report any type of abuse or malpractice that is detrimental to the well-being of the people living and working in Elm Cottage.
