Technical Manager Construction

Position: Technical Manager

Location: Head Office, Beaconsfield
Reports to: Commercial, Technical, and Production Director
Salary: Competitive package offered

Role Overview: The Technical Manager oversees pre-construction and delivery of new residential projects, ensuring all design information meets high-quality standards, aligns with the project schedule, and stays within budget. Responsibilities include successful sub-contract procurement and managing build projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and distribute construction drawings and information.
  • Ensure compliance with current regulations, planning permissions, and buildability.
  • Manage compatibility of consultant information to avoid construction conflicts.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date filing of all project documents.
  • Liaise with local authorities for completion of section agreements and licenses.
  • Monitor budgets for external consultants, reporting weekly to the Head of Technical and senior surveyor.
  • Manage payments and orders for external consultants following approval procedures.
  • Coordinate service connections and NHBC (or equivalent) approvals.
  • Update the CML Tracker weekly for approvals and certificates.
  • Maintain and update health & safety plans for compliance.
  • Coordinate with crane suppliers and ensure relevant licenses are obtained.
  • Ensure specifications for finishes are accurate and approved by relevant directors.
  • Verify sales brochures for accuracy in line with planning and construction drawings.
  • Execute instructions from the Head of Technical according to company standards.

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality of company and employee information.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of business conduct and comply with the company handbook.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Commit to the companys Equality and Diversity Policy.
  • Observe the company's non-smoking policy.

Other Duties:

  • Comply with Equality & Diversity requirements.
  • Participate in training as needed.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably required.

Key Skills Required:

  • Minimum degree qualification.
  • Experience in a similar technical role with strong knowledge of construction drawings.
  • Industry experience with a high-volume house builder preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, diligent, and able to meet deadlines independently and as a team player.
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Building Regulations.
  • Ideally residing within an hour of Beaconsfield.
