As a Management Accountant, you will be at the heart of our Central Finance team within state-of-the-art offices based in Manchester. Your primary responsibility will be the production of monthly management accounts, central monthly recharges and quarterly reporting packs. You will also have the opportunity to engage in business partnering alongside central budget holders. Your ability to operate with autonomy while being diligent when making decisions in line with targets, budgets and return on investment expectations will be crucial for success in this role.
- Support the month-end closing for 2 main regions of the business, ensuring adherence to established policies and financial laws.
- Work closely with budget holders to produce budgets and monitor performance against these budgets.
- Provide accurate and meaningful analysis to the Finance Manager and Chief Finance Officer to assist with key decision making.
- Work collaboratively as part of the European Financial Accounting & Reporting Team for UK & Ireland.
- Support designated projects and ensure compliance with all financial controls, processes, and regulatory framework.
- Proactively identify improvements, make recommendations, and implement new ways of working.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Management Accountant position will bring a wealth of accounting experience along with relevant qualifications (ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent). You should have an excellent understanding of accounting systems, legislation, statutory and regulatory frameworks. Your strong problem-solving skills coupled with your continuous improvement mentality will enable you to challenge existing processes effectively. An awareness of Financial Reporting Standards is essential.
- Qualified (ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent) with relevant accounting experience.
- Strong skills in Excel, Power Point and Word.
- Excellent understanding and working knowledge of accounting and reporting systems, applicable legislation, and statutory and regulatory framework.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Continuous improvement mentality with the ability to challenge existing processes.
- Awareness of Financial Reporting Standards and other developments within global accounting practices.
